DESCRIPTION:This hike explores the Eagle Hills\, to the west of Eagles Creek Regional Park. We will hike through a large area of hilly woodland\, and emerge into open prairie with views over the lower country to the south and east. In spring there should be lots of prairie flowers. On the way back to the cars\, we will walk through the site of the original Lakeshore Tree Farm. \nIt is about 1 hour drive west of Saskatoon toward Asquith on highway 14\, then highway 376 going north toward Arelee.

The fire started in the MacDowall Block\, and jumped the North Saskatchewan River. One person lost his life\, 17\,000 hectares of forest burned\, and one house was destroyed. Now\, we can witness the amazing re-growth of nature!

Please let Sheryl (306-382-9462) know if you too would like to volunteer\, to lead a hike\, clear trails\, help maintain our huts\, and outdoor biffies\, create the winter wood supply\, etc. It’s thanks to our volunteers that we are able to enjoy all these amazing amenities! \nAll members are welcome on the hikes! DESCRIPTION:Meet:  9:45 a.m. across from the Lawson Civic Centre\, in the Lawson Height’s Mall parking lot\, by the park\nLeader:  Sheryl Riis      306-382-9462 \n\nHiking about 12 km through grassland\, over sand dunes\, and through wooded areas\, near the North Saskatchewan River\, with lunch beside the river \nFollowed by the Langham Fall Supper\n\nWe had 4\, out of 5 spring hikes\, that were almost completely tick free! Now\, the forests\, and open grasslands\, are beautifully tick-free\, and waiting for us to meander through\, on a Sunday. Thanks to a new volunteer hike leader\, we are even starting to re-introduce some of our old hikes. Please let Sheryl (306-382-9462) know if you too would like to volunteer\, to lead a hike\, clear trails\, help maintain our huts\, and outdoor biffies\, create the winter wood supply\, etc. It’s thanks to our volunteers that we are able to enjoy all these amazing amenities! \nAll members are welcome on the hikes! We usually hike for about 12 km\, with water breaks\, and a lunch break.
