Youth Lessons

The Saskatoon Nordic Ski Club offers ski lessons for children and teens. For complete information about lesson planning, equipment, and more please visit or download the parent information package.

General Information

• Registration will open in early October. Previous Saskatoon Nordic Ski Club Members will receive an email on week before the registration deadline opens.
• Lessons will start when we have snow and ending when the snow melts. Wednesday lessons will start between 6:00-6:30pm depending on the age group of the athlete. Sunday lessons will start between 2:45-3:30pm depending on the age group of the athlete.
• Registration fills up quickly every year. Registration will close by mid-November. Don’t delay in getting signed up for youth lessons.

Age Groups

• Bunnyrabbit. Introductory ski program for ages 3 – 5 years. No ski experience required.
• Jackrabbits Level 1 – 2. Skier has passed the Bunnyrabbit Ski Program OR is usually 5 to 7 yrs old with limited ski experience. Skiers with limited experience aged 8-9 should register in this class.
• Jackrabbits Level 3-4. Skier has complete Jackrabbit Level 2 OR is usually 7 to 9 yrs old and can classic ski well, climb hills, control their descent of hills well with a snowplow, stop/turn, has the basics of double poling.
• Track Attack. Skier has completed Jackrabbit Level 4. They can classic and skate ski very comfortably on all kinds of terrain.
• Youth Learn to Ski. This program is directed at older kids and teens who are new to cross country skiing. Skill development is similar to our Jackrabbit program but with a delivery that is age appropriate.
